Phillip Cornwell

A key objective in the first course in mechanics is to help build a student’s ability first to evaluate problems in a simple and logical manner and then to implement basic principles to their solutions. A strong conceptual understanding of these fundamental mechanics principles is important for successfully solving mechanics problems. Vector Mechanics for Engineers: Statics and Dynamics, 12th Edition, (PDF) will assist instructors to achieve these goals. Continuing in the essence of its successful prior editions this edition provides conceptually accurate and comprehensive coverage together with an important refreshment of the exercise sets and online delivery of homework problems to your students. The 12th edition has included one case study every chapter and enhancements throughout the textbook and in Connect. The trademark of the Beer-Johnston series has been the problem sets. This updated edition is no different. More than 650 of the homework problems in the text are new or revised. One of the features of the approach used in this ebook is that the mechanics of particles is evidently separated from the mechanics of rigid bodies. This approach makes it possible to study simple practical applications at an early stage and to delay the introduction of the more difficult concepts.

Moreover, Connect has more than 100 Free-Body Diagram Tool Problems and Process-Oriented Problems.McGraw-Hill Education’s Connect is also available. Connect is the only integrated learning system that enables students to constantly adapting to deliver accurately what they need when they need it, how they need it so that class time is more effective. Connect enables the professor to assign homework quizzes and tests easily and automatically grades and records the marks of the student’s work. Problems are randomized to avoid sharing of answers and may also have a “multi-step solution” which assists move the college students’ learning along if they experience trouble.
