Melanie McEwen

Dr. Melanie McEwen has more than 25 years of experience as a nursing professor.
She is the author/editor of three nursing textbooks: Theoretical Basis for Nursing (co-authored with E. Wills), Community/Public Health Nursing: Promoting Population Health (co-authored with M. Nies), and Community-based Nursing: An Introduction (co-authored with E. Wills).

She's also written a number of articles for nursing magazines. RN-BSN services, spiritual nursing care, immunizations and immunisation policies, inequalities in ADHD diagnosis and treatment, and school-based asthma management are some of her research interests.

Dr. McEwen graduated from The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing with a BSN, Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans with a master's degree in Community and Public Health Nursing, and Texas Woman's University with a Ph.D. in Nursing.
