Author(s)

Kirk VanGelder

Kirk VanGelder started teaching automotive technology to students at Clark College in 1983, and then high school students at the Clark County Skills Center in 1990. He has helped his students learn how to ask questions of themselves, and then to search out the answers, and learn how to think critically.

Kirk's passion is helping instructors improve their coaching/teaching skills. He continues to look forward to working with auto and diesel instructors across Canada and the US.

Automotive technicians must learn how to manage, diagnose, and repair any device on a vehicle in a secure and efficient manner. Fundamentals of Automotive Technology, 2nd Edition (PDF) equips college students with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully complete these tasks.

The Second Edition, with its focus on transparency and precision, provides college students and instructors with a single source of unrivalled coverage for every mission from MLR to MAST.

The latest new 2nd edition, which has been completely redesigned and reorganised, improves engineering students understanding and promotes critical thinking.
