Dr. Peter G. Northouse is Professor Emeritus of Communication in the School of Communication at Western Michigan University. In addition to many publications in professional journals, he is the author of Introduction to Leadership: Concepts and Practice; Leadership: Theory and Practice; and co-author of Health Communication: Strategies for Health Professionals. His interests include leadership assessment, models of leadership, ethical leadership, and leadership and group dynamics. For over 31 years, he has taught courses in interpersonal communication, leadership, and organizational communication to both graduate and undergraduate students. Currently, he is a consultant and lecturer on trends in leadership development, leadership research, and leadership education. He holds a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Denver.
